Frequently Asked Questions

The questions parents ask us most, answered plainly. Anything specific to your child’s situation belongs in a discovery call — that’s what it’s for.

Where do sessions take place?

Online worldwide via video call, and face-to-face in Qatar. UK face-to-face sessions are available during the summer period. Most families use a consistent weekly online slot.

Who actually teaches my child?

Apex tuition is delivered personally by Dr Krishan P. Chauhan and Kamini K. Chauhan. When you book tuition or consultancy with us, the person you meet on the discovery call is the person who works with your child — that does not change, and it is not outsourced. Separately, we run the Apex Tuition Portal: a matching service for families who need a subject, level or schedule we cannot personally cover. Portal tutors are independent, and every one is DBS-checked and qualification-verified by us before they are listed. The two are distinct services and you always know which you are buying.

What subjects and levels do you cover?

Mathematics and the sciences from Key Stage 3 through GCSE, A-Level and IB, plus 11+ preparation. Our consultancy arm covers UCAS strategy, personal statements, admissions tests and interview preparation — with particular depth in medicine, dentistry and pharmacy applications.

How much does it cost?

Tuition is priced by programme — not by the hour — based on level, subject and frequency. Consultancy is priced by programme too: full UCAS support typically falls between £500 and £1,500 depending on scope. After your free discovery call you receive a clear written recommendation with exact pricing — no obligation, and no pressure to decide on the call itself.

What happens on the free discovery call?

Around 20–30 minutes: we listen to where your child is now, where they are aiming, and what has or hasn't worked before. You leave with our honest read of the situation — including, where relevant, being told tuition isn't what your child needs.

Do you guarantee grades?

No — and we would treat any tutor who does with caution. What we commit to is rigorous diagnosis, a plan that targets the actual gaps, and honest progress reporting so you always know where things stand.

Are you safeguarding checked?

Yes. Dr Chauhan holds a current International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) and an Enhanced DBS check; Kamini Chauhan holds an Enhanced DBS check. Our full safeguarding approach — including online session expectations — is published on our Safeguarding page.

Can parents sit in on sessions?

Yes, always. For online sessions we actively encourage a parent to be nearby, particularly for younger students — our safeguarding page sets out how sessions are run.

Do you work with the IB as well as A-Levels?

Yes — Dr Chauhan is Head of Mathematics at an international school and works across A-Level, IB (AA and AI, HL and SL) and the American curriculum daily. Curriculum alignment between systems is one of our specialisms.

How do I book?

Use the Book a Free Discovery Call button on any page to request a time, message us on WhatsApp, or use the contact form. Requested times are confirmed personally within about 2 hours.

The free discovery call exists precisely for this — every family’s situation is different, and specifics deserve real answers.
