Dr Krishan Chauhan’s academic journey is the foundation of everything Apex Academic Consultancy stands for. His doctorate in Metabolic Diseases and Medical Statistics was not simply a qualification — it represented years of rigorous empirical research, statistical analysis, and scientific writing at the highest level. It is this experience that gives him the ability to teach not just the content of a subject, but how to think within it.

Holding a PGCE from the University of Leicester and a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences, Dr Chauhan has spent over a decade teaching across every level of education — secondary school, college, and university. He currently serves as Head of Mathematics at a leading international private school in Qatar, where he oversees curriculum design, examinations strategy, and academic standards across an internationally diverse student body.

His specialism is Mathematics at A-Level and IB (both Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretation), and Biology from GCSE all the way through to Masters degree level. His teaching approach is built on precision, clarity, and an absolute refusal to allow a student to leave a session without genuinely understanding — not merely memorising — the material.

Kamini Chauhan brings something that no generalist academic consultant can offer: the lived experience of a clinical healthcare professional. As a GPhC-registered pharmacist with over a decade of practice across community and clinical pharmacy settings in the UK, she has spent her career at the intersection of science, patient care, and professional responsibility.

Her expertise in supporting university applications for Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Dentistry, and allied health programmes is grounded in the fact that she has been through those systems. She knows what admissions tutors are looking for because she knows what the profession actually demands — not from the outside, but from ten-plus years of practicing it.

Kamini specialises in personal statement coaching for healthcare applicants, interview preparation (including MMI circuits), and mentoring students through the realities of what healthcare study and practice truly involves. She has helped students gain places at some of the most competitive medical and pharmacy schools in the UK — not by telling them what admissions committees want to hear, but by helping them find and articulate their genuine motivation and suitability.

Our Journey

The Apex Story

Apex Academic Consultancy was founded by Dr Krishan P. Chauhan and Kamini K. Chauhan — a husband-and-wife team united by a single belief: that every student deserves teaching rooted in genuine expertise, not generic advice.

What began as private tutoring in Leicester has grown into a consultancy trusted by families across Qatar, the UK, and online worldwide.

2012

The First Students

Dr Chauhan begins private tutoring while completing his PhD in Metabolic Diseases at the University of Leicester.

2015

Classroom to University

After earning his PGCE, Dr Chauhan teaches secondary mathematics and begins lecturing at university level.

2018

International Expansion

The family relocates to Qatar. Dr Chauhan becomes Head of Mathematics at a leading international school.

Apex is Founded

The consultancy launches — combining Dr Chauhan’s academic expertise with Kamini’s clinical pharmacy and admissions mentoring.

Our Philosophy

Every Student Has a Ceiling We Have Not Found Yet

We do not work with fixed ideas of what a student can achieve. We work with the student in front of us, finding their ceiling and then helping them go beyond it. Predicted grades are a starting point, not a destination.

Understanding Over Memorisation

Rote learning produces fragile knowledge that crumbles under exam pressure. We build understanding — the kind that transfers to unseen questions, new contexts, and higher-level study. This takes longer. It is also the only thing that works.

The Student First, the Subject Second

A session that covers the right topics but leaves a student more confused than when they arrived is a wasted session. We diagnose before we teach, and we adapt every session to what that student actually needs on that day.

Every engagement begins with a diagnostic. We need to understand where a student is before we can map where they need to go. This is not a questionnaire — it is a genuine, professional assessment carried out in the first session.
